LEG BigData engineer

Focusing on Hadoop and/or Spark, identify a reference real-life representative analytics job, port it to ARM, verify how the performance scales with the number of nodes, profile and identify performance bottlenecks.

LEG DataBase engineer
Experience in configuring and building user space components and server workloads, adding them to the continuous integration system and identifying use cases and test suites to verify the performance and stability. Focusing on MariaDB and/or OceanBase first and then on MongoDB, Couchbase, etc. run representative use cases in a multi-node set up and identify low hanging fruits to improve the performance.

LEG Cloud engineer
Experience in configuring and building user space components and server workloads, adding them to the continuous integration system and identifying use cases and test suites to verify the performance and stability. Focusing on Cloud deployment, set up a scenario with OpenStack provisioning a minimal OS (coreOS or Atomic or Ubuntu core) in conjunction with LXC/Docker and then instantiating a PaaS framework (CloudFoundry, OpenShift Origin or Apache Stratos) for elastically-scaling web apps in Java, PHP, Go, Ruby-on-rails or other runtime languages.

LEG OpenJDK engineer

Good knowledge of code versioning systems, Mercurial is preferred but git is also ok. Expertise in test automation, build systems, performance evaluation. Reference is the openjdk9 porting project to Aarch64: http://openjdk.java.net/projects/aarch64-port/ In cooperation with the rest of the OpenJDK team, the assignee will work in automating test suites, comparing performance numbers across different builds, analyzing Oracle certification test kit (JCK) results and running reference business case Java applications.

Mark Orvek - Executive VP of Engineering at Linaro. Mark joined Linaro as Director of Working Groups in August 2012. Prior to this he was Vice President of Engineering and Services at MontaVista Software. He joined MontaVista in 1999 as the director of engineering, responsible for new product development focused on making the Linux operating system suitable for embedded systems and embedded applications. He managed the development of key technologies for Linux including multi-architecture platform support, real-time, carrier grade high availability, small footprint, fast boot, power management and most recently the MontaVista Linux 6 Integration Platform. Before MontaVista, he was an R&D Section Manager at Hewlett-Packard (HP), holding various positions including technical field support, development engineer, R&D Project Manager and R&D Section Manager in HP’s business servers and Real-time embedded board computers. Mark holds BS degrees in Electrical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and in Computer Science from California State University at Dominguez Hills.
