Linaro announces Keynote Speakers for Linaro Connect USA 2014

CAMBRIDGE, UK; 20 AUGUST 2014:

Linaro Ltd., the collaborative engineering organization developing open source software for the Arm architecture, announced today the keynote speakers for the Linaro Connect USA event to be held September 15-19 at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame, California. Linaro Connect is an international conference that provides an open forum for the Linux on Arm community to discuss the latest software developments around the Arm architecture.

Linaro Connect is attended by the best and brightest in the Linux on Arm industry.  Linaro Connects are held twice each year in different regions around the world and they bring together a unique combination of engineers, program managers, technical architects, project managers, users and industry experts. It gives participants a place to learn about emerging trends, current community and Linaro activities as well as new ways of optimizing the latest Arm technology.  It is the place to help solve community problems.

Additionally, Linaro Connect USA 2014 will feature demos of Linaro members’ products.  The demos will take place during the week and give participants a chance to see the work of Linaro and its members in action.

Confirmed keynote speakers and topics include:

  • Paul Eremenko, Director of Project Ara at Google, will discuss  “What if hardware was more like software? Google’s Project Ara and the democratization of the hardware ecosystem.”

  • Dr. Ken Morse, CTO, Connected Devices and SP Video Infrastructure at Cisco, will present “Enabling Internet Speed for Service Providers”

  • Linda Knippers, Distinguished Technologist at HP, will give a keynote on “Fueling HP Moonshot”

  • Christian Reis, VP Hyperscale at Canonical, will present “Mythology and Potential of the Arm Server”

  • George Grey, CEO of Linaro, will give an overview of  ”Linaro Past, Present and Future”

  • Dr. Christos Kolias, Senior Research Scientist at Orange Silicon Valley  will present  “NFV:  Empowering the Network”
