Linaro Announces Keynote Speakers and Demos For Upcoming Linaro Connect Hong Kong

CAMBRIDGE, UK – 22 JANUARY 2015

Linaro, the collaborative engineering organization developing open source software for the Arm architecture, today announced the keynote speakers for the upcoming Linaro Connect Hong Kong 2015 that will take place February 9th – 13th in Hong Kong, China.  The week will kick-off with Linaro’s Chief Executive Officer, George Grey, welcoming attendees to Linaro Connect and giving an update on the latest Linaro developments.  Each day will then begin with a keynote from various industry leaders and the week will end with a rich assortment of demonstrations, including much of Linaro’s latest Armv8-A 64-bit software developments.

Industry speakers for Linaro Connect Hong Kong 2015 keynotes include:

  • Jon Masters - Chief Arm Architect, Redhat

  • Dejan Milojicic - Senior Researcher & Manager, HP Labs

  • Bob Monkman - Enterprise Segment Marketing Manager, Arm

  • Greg Kroah-Hartman – Linux Foundation Fellow

  • Warren Rehman -  Android Partner Engineering Manager, Google

The Linaro Connect agenda also features sessions covering: Android, Armv8-A, Automation & Validation, Digital Home, Enterprise Servers, LAVA, Linux Kernel, Networking, Power Management, Security, Toolchain, Virtualization and multiple training sessions. Additionally, Linaro Connect Hong Kong 2015 will feature the following demos:

  • Linaro Clear Key CDM

  • Chromium on Wayland with Gstreamer

  • Linaro Web Browser Test Framework

  • Demo of VLANd

  • l2fwd

  • OVS - x86 - Arm

  • ODP on Cavium platform

  • OpenJDK running on all Armv8 hardware

  • OpenStack running on Armv8 hardware

  • Android support for clang 3.6 and gcc 5.0

  • Ceph on remote server cluster

  • UEFI on BeagleBone Black

In addition, the engineering teams will be working throughout the week on the available hardware and this will spawn additional demos, including the results of the LAVA team Week of Hacking. The demos will feature in some of the keynotes and at other times during the week, but participants will get to see most of them all together at Demo Friday. The Linaro Networking Group (LNG) is also planning a special demo session at the end of its focused sessions on Thursday.
