Background

Hello, I started my career at G.E. Aerospace in hardware for engine controls; both military and commercial aircraft with VAX/VMS and HP UNIX systems providing our development environments.  I transferred into software engineering, through internal and external classes, and found myself working with embedded Linux in 2001; writing drivers for Atmel’s TPM in which I lead the firmware design team.  Linux fascinated me and I found a new career path in Embedded Linux development that has taken me into cryptography, medical systems, fitness equipment and Dell enterprise servers (BMC SoC development at Renesas) or what Dell calls iDRAC.  One aspect of the Linux kernel that I love is the opportunity to learn new O.S. Concepts and to see the kernel evolve.  I have also dabbled in Verilog for ASIC verification and emulation platforms (FPGA development at Atmel) and can appreciate the hardware design knowledge when writing device drivers.

Ask me Questions About...
