Background
I've been working with Linux for the past 6 years, with a recent keen interest in Open Source development. Prior to my compulsive need to contribute back into the community I was interested in writing small (non-upstreamable) device drivers and porting the Linux kernel to various unsupported development boards. My most significant achievement to date was a Linux port to a brand new architecture called CR16. I was the junior member of a strong 3 person team. My role was to port low level assembler and start-up code from Hitachi H8 to National Semiconductor CR16. I am a bit twiddler at heart; nothing pleases me more than to sit down with a good datasheet poking registers. Prior to my Linux endeavors I was a Detachment Commander within the British Army. It was there I first realised how satisfying it is to lead a highly talented team of individuals.
