Kevin Hilman

Background

Linux kernel developer and maintainer.  Kevin has been a Linux user since 1994 and a kernel hacker since 1999 when he started writing drivers and working on kernel ports to embedded platforms.  He worked as a Linux kernel developer for a start-up working on a new processor architecture, for MontaVista doing kernel development for multiple ARM SoCs, and for Texas Instruments focusing on kernel development for the TI OMAP and DaVinci family of SoCs.  Kevin has also run a small consulting business focusing on kernel development and helping clients get their kernel work upstream into the mainline Linux kernel.  As a kernel maintainer, Kevin currently looks after the power management core code for the TI OMAP family of SoCs, and is co-maintainer of the TI DaVinci platform support.  As a kernel developer, Kevin's focus is on the various challenges around power management in the kernel, and generic frameworks to support the wide variety of power management hardware in the different ARM SoCs.
