Background
I Studied Microelectronic Systems Engineering, thinking that I was going to be a hardware engineer, graduated in 2001 and got a job working for AMCC, where I was interviewed for a hardware position. On my first day they asked if I could help out with a simulator of the network processor that they were designing, at which point I became a software engineer! I wrote simulators of hardware components (ARM CPU's and GPU's, a video processor and DVB-H demultiplexer for Imagination Technologies and two network processors for AMCC), mostly in C++, for over nine years before I fancied a change of direction and joined Linaro. Outside work I am a networking, DVR, gaming and low power server geek.
