Includes back-porting Linaro feature patches to the LSK kernels. Travel: International travel is required for approximately 1 week duration 3-4 times per year to attend Linaro Connect events.

As an Android System Engineer you will work in a fast paced and innovative team of Android engineers to deliver ARM specific solutions for key topics of Linaro members. You will be actively involved in identifying suitable topics, typically in the areas of optimization, consolidation, enablement and performance of the Android code base. For this work you will require broad knowledge across the android system stack, in particular in the areas of kernel, enablement, HALs and middleware are key in helping Linaro providing solutions that help our members. At best you come with product experience as well as open source/community experience. If you have bounds into the Google Android team, even better. As an Android System Engineer you are well versed on the user-space stack, but you also have shown that you can understand and hack kernelspace and also can effectively work with kernel.org engineers to identify and resolve kernel issues. You should be enthusiastic about technology, and passionate about producing quality code, while motivated by quickly delivering services that are a joy to use.

- Landing Team Kernel Engineer

Your role will be to advise and collaborate on the development and upstreaming of the Linux kernel support for a specific SoC and target development boards. Landing Team Summary: A landing team is a team composed of Linaro engineers, and engineers from a specific SoC vendor. The team is formed for a specific period of time, usually 6 to 12 months to tackle a specific set of problems related to Linux and a particular SoC. Currently landing teams are focussing efforts on kernel enablement and kernel upstreaming for member SoCs.
Travel: Landing team members are expected to participate in a landing team kickoff meeting, all Linaro Connect events, plus one or more development “sprints” involving international travel.
